What is why are cookies called cookies and not bakies?

The term "cookie" comes from the Dutch word "koekie," which means little cake. Cookies are called cookies because of their small, cake-like texture. The term "bakie" is not commonly used to describe small baked goods, and is not as commonly recognized as "cookie." Additionally, the term "cookie" has been used to describe these baked goods for centuries, while the term "bakie" is a more recent invention.
